This is a one day workshop for beginners where you can spend a day learning to throw a pot and practising this skill through repetition.
Learn the foundational techniques of centring, coning and throwing a cylinder, the basis for throwing any functional vessel.
Go at your own pace in a relaxed environment, with demonstrations and plenty of 1-1 time with your Tutor. Towards the end of the day, you can select two of your best pieces to decorate with coloured slips.
Pots will be left to dry and later glazed and includes up to 2 firings.
Work will be ready to collect approx. 4 weeks after the workshop.
The cost of the workshop includes materials and the additional tutor time to glaze and twice/ fire pots after the workshop.
This workshop will be taught by Sarah Rychtarova.
Sarah graduated in Fine Art at DJCAD in 2014. She continues to be a multidisciplinary visual artist using clay as a central focus in her practice.
Sarah has taught regular classes, workshops and 1-1’s in ceramics across Scotland and has recently returned to Dundee to teach locally.
