Beginners Textile Screen Printing workshop

Details

If you have been curious to learn the basics of screen printing, then please come and immerse yourself in an afternoon of play using stencils and blank screens to create motifs and images of your choice.

During the workshop, we will cover the basic premise of screen printing; the idea of layering up an image, how to prepare paper stencils, and screen care.

Please feel free to bring along an old t-shirt/sweatshirt/jacket you wish to print on, alternatively, the centre will provide a tote bag and blank fabric samples to print onto.
By the end of the session, you will have a printed tote bag and various fabric samples to take away with you featuring your own design.

The workshop will be an introduction to screen printing, using basic paper stencils and
blank screens. Artist Kate Harvey will demonstrate how to build up a print in layers, colour by colour which you will then explore yourself.

Please bring a packed lunch. Tea & coffee is available at the Centre.
