The Queen of Katwe (PG) plus Black History Month Celebration Event

Details

Phiona's life changes after she meets Robert Katende, who teaches her to play chess. Under Katende's guidance, Phiona becomes a top player and sees an opportunity to escape from a life of poverty.

After the film there will be African food by Rehoboth along with board games and music along with the opportunity to try on traditional head tie and a fashion show of traditional African dress!

We have made all our half-term events pay what you can. Pay what you can means you get the same experience no matter what you pay for a ticket. If you are able to pay the full ticket price, this will help us keep our events affordable to all and allow us to offer free tickets to those that need them. However if you cannot afford the full ticket cost, please select the price that is right for you and your circumstances - including free.

This project is supported by Film Hub North with National Lottery funding on behalf of the BFI Film Audience Network
