FOUNDATIONS: Introduction to Deep Nature Connection & Wilderness Skills 🌿

Informations

Come and spend a day in the woods for a restorative, practical and fun introduction to deep nature connection and wilderness skills.

Build confidence to:
• Create a natural shelter without a tent
• Gather fire-making materials and light a fire with a single match
• Sharpen your senses and spot wildlife signs

This day is for anyone curious to learn practical outdoor skills while developing a deeper awareness of the natural world around them. We’ll slow down, tune into our senses and begin exploring the woodland not simply as a backdrop, but as a living landscape full of signs, stories and relationships.

Throughout the day, we’ll explore fire-making and essential survival principles. We’ll look at how you might create a comfortable shelter without a tent, what our fundamental needs are when spending time outdoors, and how knowledge, preparation and awareness can help us feel increasingly at home in wild places.

Alongside the practical skills, we’ll explore some of the foundations of deep nature connection and naturalist awareness. Through sensory exercises, observation and time moving through the landscape, we’ll begin learning how to notice more: the plants growing around us, tracks and signs, animal movement, bird activity and some of the subtle patterns that can easily go unseen in our everyday lives.

There’s something I really love about bringing people together in the woods to learn in this way. Whatever the season or weather, being outside gives us an opportunity to slow down, get our hands involved, share skills around the fire and reconnect with a part of ourselves that can sometimes get lost in the busyness of everyday life.
