Course Descriptor:
This course is ideal for improvers who have previously studied some Manx, and are comfortable with the material covered in the first half (up to around lesson 8) of Keim Nane (Level One) of Culture Vannin’s Loayr Gaelg course, which you can access here.
The course will include topics such as:
• The past tense of “to do”, to express things such as “I went to Douglas and I bought a bike”
• The past tense of “to be”, to say things such as “I was in Ramsey yesterday”, “he was ill” etc.
• Giving opinions and expressing possibility (I think, maybe, it’s likely…)
• How to say that you, and others, prefer things
• Saying that you do / don’t have to do certain things
Course participants will have lots of opportunities to practise speaking and listening in particular, and will gain an understanding of simple grammar.
