6 Week Course dates - Summer Term

Saturday 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th July; 9th, 16th Aug 2025

Mental exercise decreases hyperactivity, boredom and destructive behaviours – If dogs don’t get enough mental exercise, they’re not using their brains to process enough information, therefore they have pent up mental energy (which has to come out somewhere)!

If they’re bored, they are more likely to use that pent up energy for unwanted behaviours such as excessive barking, unwanted chewing, excessive attention seeking, inappropriate digging and over-reactions. This type of training can also help improve a dogs’ self-esteem and it hugely improves the connection and communication between you and your dog.

There is a minimum requirement that your dogs understands the cue 'Sit'.

The classes will include a whole range of exercises around the following subjects, plus more:

• Elements of Gundog Training
• Stop on cue, Search/Retrieve, Working with the whistle.
• Exercises to support Loose-lead walking and Recall.
• Self-Control and Calm around distractions.
• Direction guiding (Round, Left, Right, Back)
• Hold it/Drop it
• Leave it
• Sit/Stay
• Focus

Instructions

Please bring the following:

  • Short straight lead
  • Long lead (not extendable)
  • Whistle
  • Plenty of favourite treats

Start Time - Please arrive about 5minutes before your start time - we will be starting the class promptly on time.

Weather - These classes are held outdoors, so we will still run the class in light rain, however if it's forecast to be very grim, I will notify you all via Text with a view to re-scheduling.

Please Note:

  • Payment in advance only – I need to guarantee spaces are filled to enable me to cover my business costs.
  • Cancellation Policy – In the unlikely event that you need to cancel within 14days, I will not be able to guarantee a full refund unless I can fill the space.
  • Refunds - Please note that refunds will be minus the 5% booking fee that I'm charged when the booking is processed.
