A day course suitable for all levels of experience of pole lathe turning.
Beginners will be guided through the important aspects of material preparation before stepping up to the pole lathe and turning their first bowl. Intermediate or advanced turners will be able to work on more complex projects such as handled bowls or lidded boxes, or work on improving your techniques and efficiency.
Please let us know what you would like to work on at booking so the correct materials can be provided. All tools will be provided but you may bring your own if you wish.
This is an amazing and rare chance to learn from internationally recognised pole lathe turner Owen Thomas, a professional greenwood worker and teacher.
Pole lathe turning can be physically demanding but there will be plenty of breaks during the course. All tools and materials are provided but you are welcome to bring your own tools to use if you have them.

Please bring lunch - you are welcome to cook over our campfire. We provide tea and coffee and snacks!
