Informations

Attending conferences is an occupational hazard for academics, but how do you go about organising one? This session will cover the basics of how to set up an academic conference, addressing questions such as why to organise one in the first place, when to start planning, where to find funding, who to invite and what they expect, and how to manage the conference on the day. It will suggest the different formats that can be used depending on what you want to achieve, show ways that you can promote and publicise your event, and flag up useful details.
