“My child has been on Kids Adventurists days since Matt and Bex first started and he’s just completed his second camp out. This is a club/camp/experience that I would highly recommend to other families. The children and their interests lead the way and this has been the highlight for my son. He always comes back muddy, happy and full of tales of adventures!”
This February half term, we’re inviting children to choose their own adventure.
At Kids Adventurist, we believe children thrive when they’re trusted.
Our half-term sessions aren’t about fixed timetables or being told what to do next, they’re about choice, curiosity, and confidence.
The children’s interests lead the day, with our experienced leaders gently guiding, supporting, and keeping everyone safe.
Across two full days outdoors, children will explore woodland and stream environments, work together, take risks, get muddy, build things, warm themselves by the fire, and head home feeling proud, capable, and deeply content.
What might they choose to do?
Every group is different, and that’s the magic, but choices often include:
🌊 Bridge building – problem-solving, and building bridges that actually work - move over Davinci - we got this!
🔨 Tool use – learning real skills at their own pace, with real responsibility
🔥 Fire lighting & campfire cooking – keeping warm, preparing simple hot food, and gathering together. They're in charge. Safely guided of course.
🌲 Den building & creative play – imagining, constructing, adapting, and collaborating
🧭 Free exploration – time to follow their instincts, ideas, and energy
If the weather turns (it is February!), we’re well prepared. We have use of a chalet onsite, giving us extra shelter, warmth, and flexibility, without ever losing the feeling of being immersed in nature.
Why parents tell us this is a highlight of the year:
Children are trusted to make choices and take ownership
Confidence grows naturally through real experiences
They come home muddy, happy, and full of stories
Less structure, more meaning, and a proper break from screens
For those that have been before, this is not an overnight camp, just two brilliant, immersive days that feel like a proper adventure, not that far from home.
We will send full joining instructions closer to the time, but some important info to note. We have stream access onsite, and particularly as it'll be cold in winter, you need to ensure you pack a change of clothes and wellies / outdoor shoes, just in case they get wet feet!
👉 Please bring:
This ensures that if children get wet, they can change, warm up, and carry on enjoying the day without interruption.
Bring a packed lunch - nut free, plus snacks for morning and afternoon. We have access to running water onsite and safe space to store food.
