Join us for our Contact Improvisation Big Jam evening, with a warm-up led by Justin, into a 2 hour CI Jam with LIVE MUSIC from Bela Emmerson. We'll close with a social (bring food to share!) after the jam.
Opening circle at 7pm.
Justin will be on hand to support anyone who needs it during the jam, whether you're an absolute beginner or not.
🌟 About Bela:
Bela makes music for people to move to, for self-expression, connection, and wellbeing, in her workshops, for and with Contact Improvisation (CI), and for 5Rhythms (with Paul Smith). She uses her finely-honed improvisational practice and a range of instruments to support in-the-moment relational dance: witnessing, enhancing, responding to the energy of people’s movement flowing between solo and with other/s.
🌟 About Justin:
Justin is the host and resident teacher of the lovely Brighton CI Community. He is a multidisciplinary mover with a background in martial arts and therapeutics. He has been dancing CI for over 12 years, teaching since 2018, and runs Moving Stillness - School of Somatics.
Niveau : open level
Please don't wear extensive jewellery or things like hair-pins that could get caught on people or clothes. It's good to wear flexible clothing that isn't too baggy.
