Experience the debut of a chilling new artefact at Rowtons' Museum: a personal possession of Bice Carrara (1886-1941), one of Italy's most notorious serial killers, as well as fortune teller and séance hostess whose story remains one of the most morbid chapters in the history of Italian spiritualism.
Known by her mystic name Maritza, Carrara operated in Parma during the early twentieth century, where she blended fortune telling, physical mediumship... and murder, with at least 4 brutal deaths attributed to her.
The infamous Italian murderess was known to use trigger objects within her séances to encourage phenomena. For the first time, one such personal possession will be placed at the centre of a unique red light séance experience only at Rowtons' Museum.
Limited to just 7 guests, this intimate evening will recreate the atmosphere of a traditional 1920/30s red light séance: a room illuminated only by crimson light, a circle of participants, and a historic artefact with a direct connection to one of Italy's most sinister figures. Will this object reveal anything of its previous owner? And, will the addition of red light result in physical phenomena?
Join us for a rare evening of history, true crime, and séance.
Places are strictly limited to 7 participants.
Light refreshments included.
Guests will be guided through a grounding exercise prior to commencement of the séance. Laura and Erik Rowton are experienced paranormal researchers and practitioners who have been involved with the paranormal professionally for the past 11 years.
