Firefly Walk
Informations
Join us for a sunset/early evening walk around the Nature Sanctuary's wet meadows to admire the fireflies at their peak! Our resident horticulturist Alyssa Wisehart will talk about firefly ecology and plant associations.
Instructions
DISTANCE/TERRAIN: Easy - Moderate. We will walk up to 1.5 miles on gravel/dirt trails through uneven terrain, occasionally going off trail to look closely at particular trees. Trails may be muddy, and extra care will need to be taken in the dark. The walk will last approximately 1.5 hours.
WHAT TO WEAR: Clothes and shoes suited for hiking. Be prepared to repel ticks and mosquitos. Bring a headlamp or flashlight for after sunset!
PARKING: Park in the main Spring Farm CARES gravel lot. A staff member will meet everyone there.
WEATHER: We will reschedule in the event of rain or a thunderstorm.
