Fortnightly on a Wednesday evening throughout the summer at the Lakeside Country Park, Eastleigh. If you are training or want to swim some distance there is a 150m loop round the buoys or you may prefer to simply dip and chill, the choice is yours.
The session will run from 18.15 to 20.15. You can arrive when it suits and stay in the water for as long or as little as you wish. You might want to bring a chair and relax and chat in the evening sun after your swim.
There will also be two 30 minute stroke technique sessions at 6.30pm and 7.30pm - simply select which option from the list.
The park is easily accessed by public transport and Southampton Airport Parkway train station is a 10 minute walk away. If you arrive by car, parking is free. Walk to the far end of the car park and between the 2 buildings, go past the noticeboard and follow the path to top end of the lake on the right.
You will need a swimming costume or trunks, swim shoes to protect your feet and a tow float for visibility. Don't worry if you don't have a tow float or swim hat I can lend you one. Extras for in the water may include a swim hat, goggles and earplugs, wetsuit, neoprene boots and gloves. You will also want to pack a towel, robe or warm coat, warm layers, a hat and gloves, warm drink and snack. You might want to bring a chair and relax and chat in the evening sun after your swim.
After a short briefing you are free to swim for as long or short a time that suits you. Please remember to swim your swim, it is about enjoying the beautiful lake, listening to your body and finishing strong.
