The Leicester History Network is a friendly, experienced and passionate group of History teachers and Subject Leads from across the City and County, committed to working together and sharing ideas and good practice for the benefit of all students in the region. They meet regularly to share resources, debate, challenge and collaborate.

Embedding Local History
Jim Butler (Former teacher who has developed educational resources and programmes for museums across the country) has been working with Ismail Dale from Historic England to develop classroom resources focussing on the Reformation and Counter Reformation in Leicestershire. He will introduce these and share how they can be used to provide a powerful element of local history within our curricula.

Ashley will be sharing strategies for meaningful assessment of progress at KS3, pitfalls to avoid and how to ensure data is robust whilst workload remains manageable.

Katie Hall and Mark Anstee  from Pearson Edexcel
Experienced History Teacher, Trainer and Pearson Edexcel History Advisor, Katie Hall will:
• Cover the benefits and opportunities of choosing this new Paper 1 option
• Explain the structure and content of the new Migrants in Britain thematic study and Notting Hill historic environment
• Show how to plan for teaching the new option
• Explore possible teaching and delivery strategies.
