Sonar Sessions - Monique Clare + Druce & Jones Trio

Sonar Sessions is a monthly Sunday evening event, showcasing artists in the genres of world, jazz, soul, acoustic & folk. Each Sonar Session will present a carefully curated lineup of live acts showcasing established artists alongside emerging local talent.

Wielding a cello and strikingly crafted vocals, multi award-winning songwriter Monique Clare delivers cathartic and impactful indie folk. From teaching cello in Afghanistan to performing at Celtic Connections in Scotland and Seto Folk in Estonia, Monique's intrepid nature has seen her bring music to far flung corners of the world, into war zones and up mountain-tops for sunrise concerts. Her candid stage presence is born from years touring with The Maes and playing cello for everyone from Kate Miller-Heidke to Eminem. Featured on ABC’s The Music Show, her acclaimed debut album ‘Sight’ tracks a journey through trauma and pain to growth and love. With a smile as wide as the Cheshire cat's, and an audacious tendency to reveal her deepest secrets onstage, her live show is offbeat and mesmerising.

Druce & Jones play contemporary roots and blues crafted into original songs with country and gospel influences by Emily Druce and Steve Jones. They will be joined by pianist Robin Bowles for this special trio performance.
