W e D a n c e on the Common with Community Picnic afterwards🌳✨🌳
Dance is a reflection of, and a connection to nature itself. Dancing outdoors with the sensations of the earth below you and the sky above can support you to dance in a way that you never have before.
Join us on Saturday 2nd July for our 5Rhythms practice followed by a community gathering ~ bring a picnic, your hula hoops, frisbees, blanket, a book! ... however you would like to hangout and be together after the dance
We will dance from 1.30-3.00pm
Followed by a closing circle then the option to stay for our community gathering
All welcome
Dogs are welcome if they are on a lead and off the dance floor
Clapham common is a huge green space, with plenty of room for us. We will be dancing in a PUBLIC SPACE, within an area that is contained by soft mown grass and some beautiful trees. This is a weather dependant event! Be prepared to be fluid and adaptable to our environment. We’ll be dancing with each other using silent disco headsets for a full immersion into the physical and musical landscapes of the 5Rhythms.
This is a guided practice.
5Rhythms can be experienced by anyone of any shape, age or ability.
There are no specific moves to learn and dancers can participate at their own pace, within their own capacity to move.
Nikki Ashley has been dancing & studying the 5Rhythms for 14 years. She trained to teach in 2014 with Jonathan Horan, son of Gabrielle Roth. Nikki comes from a background in Traditional Theatre, Theatre in Education and Forum Theatre. She was a founding member of the dancingTao CIC, and is a current director of Unbound Moving Arts C.I.C. She has been a mentor to 5Rhythms teachers in training. Her current workshops and classes are for all, as well as specialising in holding spaces for women & elders.

Our CIC ~ Unbound Moving Arts ~ We are committed to bringing movement practice into support of growth for individuals, communities and the world field. We operate as a CIC (Community Interest Company) and we seek to welcome all dancers and 'non-dancers' into movement.

This is a weather dependent event! We will dance in light rain (please bring a hood to protect yourself and the headphones), however for heavy rain as this is a one off you will be offered a transfer to Nikki's Wednesday evening Balham Class or a refund.
How we cost our sessions: The money goes towards facilitator insurance, the silent disco equipment, as well as a 10% contribution to our community interest company which supports our reach out work.
If finances are an issue please email Nikki.
Further details including the exact location will arrive in the booking confirmation email. If you haven’t received the confirmation email after paying please email Nikki on nikki@nikkiashley.com
