Creative Wellbeing Art Sessions – Holywell
Spring Garden Painting Session – Nexus Creative Spaces, Holywell
Saturday 28th | 10:30am – 12:30pm
Join us for a relaxed, two-hour creative wellbeing session where we explore painting through the theme of a spring garden.
Using acrylic paints on canvas, you’ll be guided through simple techniques to help you build your own interpretation of a seasonal scene — focusing on colour, texture and gentle creative expression.
This session is designed to be accessible, supportive and enjoyable, whether you are new to painting or have some experience.
The emphasis is not on perfection, but on the process of creating — allowing space to slow down, focus and enjoy the experience.
A Saturday space to slow down, explore, and create — right in the heart of the community.
These monthly Creative Wellbeing Art Sessions at Nexus Creative Spaces (The Old Sorting Office) are relaxed, welcoming art classes where creativity is used as a tool for wellbeing, confidence and connection, not for perfection.
Each monthly session offers a mix of creative activities, allowing you to explore different materials and techniques at your own pace. There’s no pressure to be “good at art” — the focus is on curiosity, experimentation and enjoying the process.
You might:
paint with acrylics or watercolour
explore mixed media and texture
work with clay or sculptural materials
try something completely new you’ve never done before
or simply sit, watch and begin when it feels right
Every session is designed so everyone creates something they can take home, feeling a genuine sense of achievement.
Why Creative Wellbeing?
Creative activity helps regulate the nervous system, build focus and offer expression beyond words. It supports both mental and emotional wellbeing while gently building confidence and resilience.
These sessions can be particularly supportive if you:
feel stressed, anxious or overwhelmed
struggle with confidence or motivation
feel disconnected or isolated
want a positive, non-clinical way to support wellbeing
are looking for something meaningful to do in your community
Creative practice has been shown to support mental health, reduce stress and improve overall wellbeing — especially when done regularly and in a supportive environment.

About the Facilitator
Jayne Hopwood is an artist, designer and creative wellbeing facilitator, and the founder of Arts for Health & Wellbeing CIC.
Creativity has been a central part of Jayne’s own journey through anxiety, depression and feeling out of place in a demanding world. Art became a way to slow down, regulate, rebuild confidence and reconnect — not by fixing anything, but by creating space to explore and reflect.
With over 25 years’ experience across design, community work and creative facilitation, Jayne now delivers art sessions that support wellbeing, inclusion and confidence for people of all ages.
Jayne is Group C Safeguarding trained (UK, CPD) and works with a strong emphasis on emotional safety, choice and accessibility.
