Experience it yourself during an evening filled with both learning and laughing. Kick off the night with a captivating scientific presentation by our guest researcher showcasing their latest and most cutting-edge research. Then, watch as our improvisers take center stage transforming what we’ve learnt into a fully improvised comedy show.
This evening’s guest researcher is Niklas Harring and he will give a lecture on:
The Climate Policy Paradox: Why Climate Concern Doesn’t Translate into Policy Support
“Climate change is widely recognized as one of the greatest challenges of our time. People are increasingly aware of its risks and express concern about its impacts. Yet, despite this awareness, many climate policy instruments—such as carbon pricing—face significant public resistance. Why does this gap exist? Why do so many acknowledge the urgency of climate change, yet there is not sufficient public support for the policies designed to address it? In this lecture, we explore the underlying reasons behind this paradox and discuss how climate policies can be designed to be both effective and publicly accepted.”
Niklas Harring is an Associate Professor at the Department of Political Science at the University of Gothenburg. He is also affiliated with the Centre for Collective Action Research, Quality of Government Institute, Centre of Environmental Political Studies and Environment for Development
