This workshop focuses on taking your prior Attention Autism training to another level, incorporating curriculum areas and use of various strategies across a child’s day. We introduce a range of new activities for participants to develop expertise in hands-on practical sessions, including storytelling techniques and direct links between book themes and supporting activities and games.
Outcomes include understanding how to use the curriculum in attention sessions, strategies for extending attention and listening for longer, and techniques and activities to make core literacy skills motivating and fun.
Benefits to staff include the confident and fluent use of visually supported communication skills that support the development of literacy skills and engagement as a fundamental technique for developing an interest in the sequence of a story, its plot and the role of characters.
