This course is for all dogs over 10 months at commencement, who have completed their vaccinations and have a few basic skills, perhaps completed the early puppy foundation course although not essential.
but are now ready to improve their "Skills for Life"
The syllabus is over 6 sessions with an opportunity to take The Kennel Club Bronze Award or Silver test on a separate session. ( allow for an additional 2 ) total of 8
Goldmark Dogs are proud to have Approved Listed Status with the Kennel Club for the Good Citizen Dog Scheme and all the courses are run under their guidelines. This is the largest Dog training Scheme in the UK.
WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?
There will be opportunities to interact with the other dogs off lead on the course as part of the socialisation. This will be only under supervision. Therefore if you feel that your dog will become fearful/aggressive please advise me beforehand, so that we can take action to remedy this.
Dogs should be on a flat collar with legal ID tag and standard lead, no slip leads or retractable ones please, although if you have a long training line, that will be useful.
Harnesses and head-collars are permitted.
A mat or small bed for your dog to settle on between exercises
A bowl with a water bottle
Poo bags
Make sure that your dog has not eaten for at least 3 hours. He or she will be working for their dinner and they will be more focused if they are hungry!
Bring plenty of high value treats in a training treat bag that you will wear around your waist or in a pocket
Plus bring extras and their normal dried food in another container to top up - yes that’s loads of food!
You will also need a soft tuggy toy or a ball on a rope or both!
For the first session only I will need to see the dogs vaccination certificate
Ensure your dog has relieved himself before class commences
Dispose of any Pooh bags in the appropriate bin outside
There is plenty of parking at the venue, However, the hall has other users so keep your dog on a lead and be a shining example of a good dog owner.😁

Best Value - Pre booked course of 4 sessions cost paid in advance £80 To allow for the Christmas break the further sessions will be in January. You may however continue to train after this, booking further sessions as required. Taking a test is not obligatory, and just enjoying a training journey to improve your skills and knowledge is addictive and fun.If you are unable to commit to the full course, single sessions subject to availability will be charged at £24 each and must be pre-booked. A minimum of 4 sessions is recommended for continuity to reach a reasonable result with lots of practice at home. Should a bitch come into her first season during this course, credit will be rolled over to the next course
