Leonid Meteor Shower

Details

The Leonid meteor shower is one of the year's best-known and much-loved meteor showers.

This year promises to be no different with what should be good dark skies for the best of the shower.

The parent comet for the Leonids is comet Temple-Tuttle which is known for producing huge outbursts every 33 years, the last one was in 2001 and it was quite a night! We can expect around 20 meteors per hour.

During your visit, we will have all the staff on duty as well as the array of telescopes and cameras ready to image the show. Come along for what should be an action-packed night
