This one-day introductory workshop is a great way to start your journey into the world of green woodworking. Throughout the day, you’ll learn about the characteristics of different species of wood and then get hands-on with a range of traditional hand tools, including draw knives and axes. Our trainers will show you how to use the tools safely and efficiently, and you’ll make something you can take home - usually a mallet, spatula or whittling stick. The emphasis is on helping you learn basic skills which you can then develop for more complex projects.
The workshop is aimed at complete beginners - no experience or skills are needed! All tools and materials are provided. Aimed at adults. Teenagers are welcome (sometimes with adult support) but please email us before booking.
You'll arrive on site by 10am, and be directed to workshop. From there, one of our experienced trainers will lead you through the workshop. The day finishes by 4pm. Please bring lunch - you are welcome to cook over our campfire. We provide tea and coffee and snacks!
