Our Home Education / families programme for children aged five years and above provides long term Forest School, offering connection to self, others and the natural world.
This taster session aims to welcome families into the woods to meet our Forest School practitioners, learn about our small CIC, its ethos and aims, and to co-create a new, regular Forest School provision at Teggsnose Woods.
Our inclusive sessions are relaxed and learner-led, allowing children and young people the opportunity to learn and develop at their own pace, discovering and following their strengths.
Our experienced and compassionate practitioners facilitate a supportive environment in the woodland.
Leaners, going forward, can expect to develop new skills or build on existing interests such as working with tools, fire, crafting or learning about woodland management and care for the environment; or they may focus on building self confidence and friendships, enjoying socialising, relaxing and observing the woodland... imagine games, story telling, projects and challenges that bring people together!
Our qualified and experienced Forest School practitioners use individual and group observation and reflection, ensuring sessions make sense to the children and young people joining us in the woods.
This session is available through the support of Cheshire East, our land owners and especially the Ranger at Teggsnose Woods.
Attendees should dress appropriately for the weather. In almost all seasons this means bringing extra layers and a warm, ideally waterproof, coat. Shoes should cover the whole foot and canvas-style shoes are not recommended.
In the winter months, we recommend a base layer, fleece and jumper, extra socks, hat, gloves, snood or scarf.
Before you arrive, please complete our attached consent form.
Please aim to arrive 15 minutes prior to the session beginning - you will be met by your lead practitioner and we walk into the woods together.
Car parking is available at Teggsnose Woods, reservoir car park, at the end of Holehouse Lane, Langley.
