Ready to take your gundog training to the next level? This course builds on the foundations developed in Level 1, introducing more advanced skills while continuing to strengthen teamwork, focus and control.
Over the 6 week course you will
- Develop your stop whistle
- Introduce the hunt whistle
- Begin directional handling
- Tackle blind retrieves
- Learn the foundations of hunting and quartering
- Continue to improve heelwork, steadiness and impulse control, with more challenging retrieves, including woodland retrieves that encourage your dog to work confidently using their nose and your guidance.
Each session includes:
- Digital training notes
- Access to the DHT app where you can upload videos for personalised feedback and connect with the community
- The option to begin your DHT Gundog Journal as you progress through the pathway.
Instructions
What to bring
- Please bring plenty of high value treats ( chicken, ham, cheese, hotdogs)
- Lead and collar
- Poo bags.
- Whistle
- 2 x dummies
Long lines will be provided during the course and fresh water for the dogs is also provided.
If you need any additional dummies or training equipment there will be an opportunity to purchase them after each class.
