Summary
The Disciplinary & Grievance Procedures Course is aimed at helping those in management roles or members of staffing committees responsible for discipline and grievance in their councils. It is designed to help ensure that disciplinary and grievance procedures are fair, consistent and support everyone in the workplace.

Suitable Audience
Councillors and staff responsible for managing people and performance, or those who wish to develop their knowledge in this area. This training will be held at a venue.

Benefits
By the end of the Disciplinary and Grievance Procedures you will have:

  • An understanding of best practice for dealing with employee misconduct
  • Knowledge on how to conduct investigations, disciplinary and/or grievance hearings and the different sanctions that can be applied
  • Awareness of what happens when an employee raises a grievance, appeals a disciplinary action or takes the council to an employment tribunal
  • An opportunity to discuss the importance of having disciplinary and grievance policies and procedures in place.
