Domestic abuse awareness webinar for all staff

This is an online event.

Details

This webinar aims to share key messages about domestic abuse alongside information about
support. There would be no limit to the number of staff able to attend, and a recording of the
session can be made available to staff unable to attend on the day. This webinar is an hour and
covers the following topics:

• Definitions and types of abuse
We will discuss the definitions and terminology around DA.
Explore the different forms that abuse may take.
Provide examples of a diverse range of experiences of DA.

• Prevalence, dynamics, and impacts of DA
We will look at the numbers of people affected by DA and examine the dynamics of DA, with
a focus on coercion and control, and the impact this will have on survivors. We will also
explore the complex reasons that survivors are not able to ‘just leave’.

• Reach in – We will talk about the signs staff may notice in the workplace, the basic
principles of responding well, and the importance of staff reaching in to survivors who very
often don’t see a path to support, including talking about our #ReachIn campaign

• Care pathways
We’ll look at the support options available to survivors and those using abusive behaviours
within the workplace, locally and nationally.
