Disability Futures: Lunch and Learn – supporting neurodiverse colleagues

This is an online event.

Joining instructions will be provided after booking.

Details

Join the team at the Humber and North Yorkshire (HNY) Resilience Hub as we explore neurodiversity in the workplace.

Neurodiverse people experience a number of barriers and challenges within work. Research has shown that many neurodivergent colleagues are afraid to share their neurodiversity due to fear of discrimination and a lack of awareness or empathy for their experiences from others.

Read more about neurodiverse experiences in the workplace (University of London).

In this one-hour lunch and learn session, we’ll explore:

  • A helpful overview and introduction to neurodiversity

  • The challenges and barriers neurodiverse colleagues face

  • How we can support neurodiverse people in the workplace

    • There will be time and space for questions as part of this session.

      Who is this session for?
This is an introductory session around neurodiversity and is open to everyone.

It will be particularly helpful for people who are keen to understand how to support neurodivergent colleagues in the workplace – this could include allies and line managers.

We are committed as a system to challenging inequality and championing inclusion, celebrating the diversity of all people working in health and care.
