Humber and North Yorkshire (HNY) Health and Care Partnership is proud to support and promote UK Disability History Month (UKDHM) 2022.
UKDHM is taking place from Wednesday 16 November to Friday 16 December 2022. ‘The Science of Kindness with Paul Devlin’ is one of a series of exciting sessions to mark this important event.
About UK Disability History Month
UKDHM is an annual event which grew from the UK disability rights movement and it provides a platform to focus on the history of the struggle disabled people continue to face for equality and human rights.
It also provides an opportunity for the valuable contributions of disabled people to be acknowledged and celebrated, for us to focus on reducing the inequalities disabled people experience and to raise awareness of the ‘everyday ableism’ disabled people face.
Join us to learn why kindness isn't rocket science
We’re delighted to offer this one-hour introduction to the science of kindness with Paul Devlin, self-appointed ‘chief kindness officer’ from the national NHS England team.
During this one-hour masterclass, we’ll discover how choosing to be kind is the most significant thing we can do to positively influence both our personal and our professional success.
The session will cover:
• the science behind the benefits of kindness
• how we can be aware of our impact (and the impact we have on others)
• thinking about what we’re thinking about (and how our thoughts can become ‘things’)
• using the ‘power of now’ to stay present and get the most out of life
• using our personal power to be our best selves
Please book early to avoid disappointment.
Accessibility
Everyone is welcome here.
This session will run on MS Teams and will include live captions. If you require any further assistance to take part on the day, for example, a British Sign Language (BSL) interpreter, please email Rachel.McCafferty4@nhs.net so that we ensure the right support is in place.
