Good Practice in Volunteer Management - Voluntary Sector Support

Managing your volunteers well and ensuring they have a positive volunteering experience is crucial to volunteer retention. The pandemic has drastically changed the volunteering landscape over the last few years, so it’s important to make sure you have the skills and resources to support your volunteers.

If you are in a position where you manage or coordinate volunteers (either in a paid or voluntary role), this training is for you.

The course will cover:
• Understanding your role as a volunteer leader.
• Understanding what makes a positive volunteer experience, and how you can achieve this.
• The legal status of volunteers in your organisation.
• The barriers that there are to volunteering, and how to address them.
• Rewarding and recognising your volunteers.
• What to do in difficult or challenging situations.

NCVO consultants specialise in training and advice and are experienced in working with the local voluntary sector.

We will take a £10 deposit to secure your place on this training course. Your deposit will be refunded if:
• You attend the training course.
• You cancel your place with more than 48 hours notice.

We cannot refund your deposit if:
• You cancel with less than 48 hours notice.
• You do not show up on the day of the training.
