We recognise that due to the fallout from the pandemic and the ‘cost of living crisis’, there is a lot of pressure on the voluntary sector right now and we want to help.
As volunteers you provide invaluable services to the community, but you are facing increasing demands on your emotional and physical which if left unchecked can lead to stress, overwhelm and eventually burnout.
We can’t change the current climate, but what we can do is offer you support by providing a safe space where your needs can be heard and offer you some simple, fast and effective strategies that you can start implementing in your life straight away to help you take some power back over your own health and wellbeing, to help make improvements to your physical and emotional health.
What you do makes a huge difference to so many people and you matter, we are here to offer to help you continue to do that in a way that prioritises your wellbeing.
The Conversation Starter Project CIC are holding a 1-hour online session on Zoom, providing a supportive safe space for you to talk about the current issues you’re facing in your work and the impact this may be having on your health and wellbeing.
This session will be held on two dates:
Dr Tara Quinn-Cirillo set up the Conversation Starter Project in 2021 to help support the community through the pandemic by offering free ‘walk and talk’ sessions in Horsham Park. Shirley Blanch initially volunteered for the project and when they realised they has such similar values in helping people empower themselves over their own health, Tara invited Shirley to become co-founder, so they could combine the psychology aspect of wellbeing with the practical application of mindfulness.
The Conversation Starter Project is now a CIC, running two free weekly walk and talk sessions in Horsham and Southwater. Tara and Shirley are the directors and continue to pursue their vision of helping people become empowered over their own health by offering a range of talks and training to all sectors of the community.
Dr Tara Quinn-Cirillo is a psychologist with over 20 years of clinical experience. As well as running her own psychology practice, she is also known for her media work and can often be seen offering practical psychological advice for challenging situations on TV, radio and in the press.
Shirley Blanch is a mindfulness coach, meditation teacher and author with over 10 years experience, who began doing this work after suffering health anxiety herself following the death of several loved ones to cancer. As well as her coaching work, Shirley has written a series of books on easy everyday mindfulness.
