Heritage Straw Craft Workshop

Discover the endangered, red-listed heritage art of straw craft in this beginner-friendly two-hour workshop, perfect for creating unique jewellery and heartfelt Mother’s Day gifts. You’ll learn the two-straw plait technique, practice your skills, and craft beautiful items like necklace pendants or earrings. For a special touch, try working with rust-dyed straw for a striking two-tone effect.
The session includes:
• A short talk on the origins and folklore of straw craft
• Hands-on guidance to master the two-straw plait
• All materials provided, including clasps, cords, and fixtures to complete your jewellery (and small gift-bags to take them away in)
• Light refreshments (hot drinks and biscuits—please share dietary needs in advance)
Tickets are £15 per person, and parking is available on-site. The workshop will be held indoors in a warm, comfortable setting, and is suitable for ages 12 and up. Spaces are limited, so book early to secure your spot for this creative and inspiring experience!

Please arrive promptly for a 5pm start.
There are limited spaces on each workshop, so I can make sure that everyone gets equal help and support and can finish their makes in the time available.
