Holistic Harmonies CIC

Holistic Harmonies is a Community Interest Company using music, movement and song to promote positive wellbeing and togetherness for the family and wider community across all lifespans.

We deliver:

  • Singing Mamas for women of all ages (accompanied children welcome)
  • Music & Movement sessions in the community for children and adults
  • Singing For Wellbeing Groups and workshops
  • Family social events
  • Targeted projects linked to developing cross-generational practice within social care settings

Based in Liverpool, Rachel Waite (Director) established Holistic Harmonies in 2018 and has created a vibrant community in the city region. Since March 2020 this work has relocated online ensuring a continued source of support and education. This has enabled us to reach a growing national and international community.

Rachel is also a director, choir leader trainer, and choir leader with national organisation Singing Mamas CIC and has been fundamental in spearheading Songline: an online lifeline of choir sessions delivered throughout lockdown.

Holistic Harmonies have also been commissioned to provide workshops to specific participant groups with partner organisations including: Liverpool Everyman and Playhouse Theatres with Merseycare Life Rooms and the Liverpool Lighthouse. If you are interested to partner with us, get in touch.

Holistic Harmonies was granted Community Interest Company status in August 2020 and we are now able to apply for government grants and local funding to share our work with the community. The first project we delivered with grants and crowdfunding was The Travelling Carol Singing Trio. It brought festive cheer to the doorsteps of isolated individuals and organisations in Liverpool during December 2020.

Prior to the covid-19 pandemic we collaborated on a 6-week pilot music & movement project in partnership with a specialist physiotherapist and Shortwork participatory action research experts to target isolation amongst the elderly and develop a cross-generational practice.

We were thrilled to receive further funding from the National Lottery to develop our Music & Movement programme in care homes and community settings, and we have just received funding from the LCVS's Community Impact Fund to grow our Singing For Wellbeing group and make it accessible to all who want to use singing to support their health & wellbeing.
