Details

11+ revision courses for students entering Year 6, helping them to improve their Maths, English, Creative Writing and Reasoning skills. This course is designed to help students gain places at London's most prestigious Independent day schools, top boarding schools and the very best grammar schools in London.

About the Tutor:
Richard has 6 years’ experience in the classroom and over 10 years’ experience as a tutor, during which time he has successfully prepared students for St Paul’s Juniors, Bute House, Westminster Under School, Highgate and Hampton School amongst others. He believes in a broad and holistic approach to the curriculum but recognises the need to hone in on exam technique at certain stages of the cycle, and prides himself on his ability to do so. Ultimately he knows that a child is always likely to learn best when they are enjoying their education.

Instructions

The Standard course consists of:

  1. An initial assessment to determine the topics to focus on.

  2. 15 hours (3 hours per day Monday - Friday) of bespoke tuition.

  3. A report at the completion of the course that identifies the strengths and areas in need of improvement in order to have the best chances at the student's target school.

We are also offering the following services to go along with the standard course:

Mock Interview - A crucial component of the school entry process, students are also able to have a practice interview with a tutor who has extensive experience in preparing applicants for the top schools. This service includes a 45-minute mock interview session followed by a feedback report and a 30 minute discussion to discuss performance and next steps.

Academic Assessment - Following the student's completion of the course, he or she will sit an English paper, a Maths paper and a Reasoning computer exam to identify and analyse their progress and areas for further improvement. The assessment includes detailed marking of the material, a 4+ page report on the tutor's findings and a 30 minute discussion to answer any questions from the parents and discuss next steps for the student.
