Details

The half term, we are offering a unique opportunity for older children and teenagers to take part in a Wildlife Ranger session to coincide with the opening of the Discovery Hub.

Wildlife Rangers will have the opportunity to carry out some practical conservation tasks to improve habitats and discover the wealth of wildlife at Warnham.

This session is being sponsored by Horsham District Council and run by the Gatwick Greenspace Partnership in conjunction with Sussex Wildlife Trust
A nominal £1.00 Booking Fee will still apply. The standard session fee is £10.00 per person.

Instructions

What you need to bring
On all our events we aim to spend as much time as possible outdoors so please remember to bring the following:

• Appropriate outdoor clothing (including waterproofs)
• Personal Face mask
• Personal hand sanitiser
• Long sleeved top and trousers (to help avoid scratches and insect bites)
• Sturdy footwear & thick socks essential (work boots/walking boots/wellingtons) Wellington
Boots highly recommended at Warnham
• Water bottle*
• Packed lunch
• Medication if required
• Suntan lotion/insect repellent as required

  • Please bring refillable bottles rather than one-use plastic bottles for drinking.

Meeting time & place
Please meet in the Shelley Wildlife Garden
Please aim to arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of the event for a prompt start and allow adequate time for traveling to and from the site.

Please make sure you let a member of the team know when you are leaving so we can account for everyone.

Severe Weather
We aim to go ahead in most weather conditions, however activities will not go ahead in severe weather such as high winds, extreme cold and/or persistent heavy rain, and where indoor alternatives cannot be arranged. You will receive an email and a phone call the day before the event to be informed of cancellation. If you are not contacted, the event will be going ahead as planned.
