Around 80% of us will at some point in our lives experience some kind of non-specific lower back pain or discomfort. It is one of the most common conditions affecting adults all over the world.
During this workshop we will talk a little bit about back pain, the triggers and what can be done to minimise our experience of it in everyday life. We will look at the anatomy of the lower back and the surrounding areas that can be toned and strengthened in order to create better support.
Michelle will then guide you through a practice designed specifically to stretch, strengthen and support the lower back area while considering some more esoteric reasons for low back pain. Within the class will be mini practices and tips that can be taken away and practiced as stand alone exercises at home in order to manage and prevent back pain. There will be an opportunity for you to bring up yoga poses that may provoke pain in the lower back and suggestions offered to accommodate/overcome these issues.
