A friendly, structured art class for home-educated students, ages 10-14, taught by an experienced art teacher with 26 years of classroom experience. Each week we try a new technique and build towards finished pieces in a relaxed small group. We’ll work on projects that build the key skills that underpin art and design at any level: drawing, painting, printmaking and 3D work. We’ll also look at artists and art history, so students learn how and why artists make the work they do. All materials are included.
Six-week block, 5 November to 10 December, at the Hub, The Horsebridge, Whitstable. DBS checked
Young Artists Studio is a drop off class.
Arriving: the class starts at 1.00pm. Please arrive about five minutes early so we can start on time. The Horsebridge is at 11 Horsebridge Rd, Whitstable CT5 1AF. Come to The Hub on the 1st floor.
Collection: please collect your child at 2.00pm. Tell me in advance who will collect them. I can only hand a child over to a named adult, unless you’ve agreed in writing that they may leave on their own.
What to wear: clothes that can get messy. I provide all materials and aprons. A water bottle is a good idea.
Allergies or needs: please tell me about any allergies or anything else I should know when you book, or message me beforehand.
If your child is unwell or can’t attend: please let me know by email. Missed sessions can’t be refunded, however, I can send a catch-up activity home.
On the 12th November, the session will be in the Studio, in the same building. I’ll confirm this with you nearer the time.
