We’re getting together for a day of learning new skills, testing our aim, and getting our hands in the soil.
In the morning, we’ll be joined by our friends from Thirsk Bowmen, who will coach us on how to use real arrows. Whether we’re hitting the gold for the first time, just getting our arrows on the target or we’re ready for a longer range, the morning will be full of challenge and fun, with bags of encouragement from all the team.
At lunch, we’ve got the run of the park! We’ll be scrambling over the fallen trees, testing our balance on the slackline in the woods, or maybe just sharing a quiet moment in the hammock.
In the afternoon, we’ll join Myra to celebrate the start of the growing season. We’re all going to pick up tools and craft our own wooden planters, which we’ll then fill with soil and seeds together. It’s a chance for us to create something lasting that we can take home and watch grow.

All seasons
Clothing: Long-sleeved tops and full-length trousers are required to protect against nettles, scratches, and ticks - tracksuit bottoms or leggings are perfect.
Think like an onion! Multiple thin layers (thermal, fleece, jacket) are better than one big coat.
Footwear:
Waterproof wellies or sturdy walking boots are essential.
In Their Backpack:
A change of clothes (extra socks are a must!).
Waterproof jacket and trousers (even on dry days!).
A labelled water bottle, sun hat/sunscreen (summer), or warm hat/gloves (winter).
Packed Lunch (we provide drinks and snacks)
Top Tip: We love mud! Please send your child in old clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty or snagged.
