Experience Inis Meáin in bloom on a spring wildflower tour of the most remote of the Aran Islands.
Learn to identify a variety of rare and common native wildflowers like Irish saxifrage and birds-foot trefoil, learn how to sustainably forage native Irish wild plants such as nettles, ribwort plantain and primrose for use in cookery and herbal remedies, and discover local and national folklore associated with our Irish wildflowers, as well as their Irish language names and cultural significance.
Tour duration: 1.5 - 2 hours
Tour length: Approx 3km
All attendees are recommended to wear good shoes for walking as the roads of Inis Meáin can be uneven underfoot. SPF and raincoats are also advisable.
All Bláthanna Fiáine Wildflower Walks incorporate accessible elements of the Irish language. Depending on demand, a separate tour entirely in Irish may be organised to accommodate Irish speakers.
