I have been working with parents and babies for well over 10 years. I qualified as a Postnatal Practitioner with the NCT, leading courses supporting and bringing together mothers as they navigate the first few months together with baby. With this professional background as well as from my own experiences as a parent, I have always been aware of the unique needs of parents as they adapt to their new life with baby (or indeed with another baby).
I chose to train further to lead NCT Relax and Stretch With Baby classes which eventually became NCT Mother and Baby Yoga Classes, and which I have now run as Yoga With Baby classes. (I feel this title more accurately reflects the inclusive nature of my classes.)
My relax and stretch training led to my first introduction to practising yoga myself, but soon I was hooked. I practised regularly with some great teachers, and gradually built up the confidence to find my own home practice as well. The more I discovered for myself the benefits of yoga, the more I realised how great a resource it could be for new mothers, finding their physical strength again after pregnancy and birth, but also in terms of nurturing their mental and emotional wellbeing.
In addition to my NCT training, I am always adding to my knowledge base and have undertaken training with Birthlight, the Birth and Beyond Collective, attended conferences on new parenthood and women's health, and more. I have also completed a general yoga 200 hour teacher training with Your Yoga Flow. Most recently, I have undertaken the 85 hour Pregnancy and Postnatal Yoga training programme with Sally Parkes Yoga.
I am proud to be a member of the Birth and Beyond Collective. A group of likeminded practitioners dedicated to supporting new parents in the early years with baby, through yoga and baby massage.
