Basic Life Support (BLS)/HSE Annual Refresher (AR)

This course provides learners with a basic overview of how to manage a patient who is unresponsive, breathing and not breathing; including the treatment of common medical emergencies.

The content includes:

• Assess the situation and circumstances in order to act safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency.
  • Administer first aid to a casualty who is unconscious (including seizure).
• Administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
• Administer first aid to a casualty who is wounded and bleeding.
• Administer first aid to a casualty who is suffering from shock.

This includes all age groups:

• Infant
  • Child
  • Adult
