What are you really afraid of? Horror writers do more than just shock or terrify—they get under our skin and tap into our subconscious fears, externalizing the unknown while speaking to our collective dread. By reading and writing horror, we can reckon with the monsters we recognize and the monsters we still cannot see—the ones that haunt our dreams.
In this one-day class we'll look at horror as a lens through which to make social commentary, confront our deepest fears, and express universal truths. We'll discuss modern short stories that play with conventions, then conceive, write, and share stories of our own.
