We drop down into the beautiful, wooded Bovey valley and remain in the woodlands for most of the day, crossing the river at Foxworthy and back over it at the old clam bridge.
There will be plenty of time to learn about the precious rainforest habitat and to study some of its amazing biodiversity, including luxuriant mats of globally rare mosses and lichens.
We walk mainly on rocky and earth paths that are slippery in places so please wear well-treaded footwear. Come prepared for all weathers, with waterproofs and warm layers. Bring a packed lunch.
