Description: Want to spin faster and cleaner, take more power up into the air with you, and
transition smoothly with your spins rather than working against them? This workshop with Freya
Pellie (@pelliefey) will refine your spin technique, work through a series of different flare
pathways, introduce a range of asymmetric/isolation spins, offer some new moves and poses
that work particularly well with spins, and offer some snappy new entries that’ll make you and
your audience go “ooh”. We’ll work with the hoop at different heights, covering both low and
high hoop spins. This is an open level workshop with different moves and pathway variations
adapted to individual students.
You’ll learn to work with spin rather than fighting against it, finding the beautiful utopia of power
and floaty-ness that spin technique offers - with that power rooted in technique rather than
brute force. Whether you’ve never attempted a flare before or are dreaming of one arm flare
tricks, Freya will cater this workshop to your needs. Disclaimer: flares are so insanely satisfying
to teach and I will clap and whoop like a happy sea lion when you nail a new one.
Freya is a multidisciplinary circus artist specialising in hoop and rope and has performed and
taught across the UK and abroad, working within both traditional and contemporary circus. She
teaches regularly at Aerial Edge in Glasgow as part of the Intensive, Foundation Course, and
Professional Development Course programmes and tours workshops and mini-intensives

Pre-requisites:
(1) Comfortable 10 second dead hang.
(2) A regular aerial practice.
To book: buy this slot to book your space and the same for any other workshops you wish to attend with Freya. You will then be emailed details of your remaining cost and where to send it and this must be sent and confirmed so within 24 hours of being sent details, to secure the space. (Or be in touch if for some reason 24h cannot be met)
If you book 2 workshops this day, £5 will be taken off your total, if you book all 3 you'll get a £10 discount. Bookings must be made at the same time for this to be used.
Workshop bookings are non refundable but if you can find someone to take your space it can be transferred.

Come to the right hand side of the building, in the side door and down the stairs to the studio! Parking in the car park only available after 5.30pm weekdays, as spaces are rented during the day. On street parking free after 6pm. At weekends the car park can be used for Saturday and Sunday classes, parking at your own risk.
