A regular social club centred around group creation, learning, sharing and collaboration in association with Signal Sounds. Form a group, get a brief and make some sounds....
What is Synth Club?
Synth Club is an interactive social event that sees you collaborate with fellow
synth enthusiasts to make music to a brief against the clock.
It takes inspiration from activity community groups like running clubs, and
time-limited creative contests like the 48 Hour Film Project.
Who is it for?
Anyone comfortable exploring collaboration with others - experts and amateurs alike.
How does it work?
You’ll be organised into teams of four.
Each team will pick four prompts at random. These prompts consist of things
such as genres of music, musically descriptive words (“minimal” “lofi” etc) and
non-musical visual or emotive prompts; all to give you creative starting points
to go from.
You and your team will then have 60 minutes to make a piece of music that uses at least two of the prompts from your cards.
At the end of the 60 minutes, we’ll have a ‘show and tell’ of all the music
created from each team.
What do I need to come along?
All you really need to bring is yourself- equipment can be provided.
We invite participants to bring their own headphones.
If you own a synth, we’d also encourage you to bring it along - but remember you’ll be sharing a workstation with others so keep it small!
