ReWild - Skills of the Ancestors Overnight Camp

• Join us in the woods, immerse yourself in nature, and learn some ancestral skills this July.

• We will be taking a step back in time to learn some ancient crafts and connect to the natural world.

• This offers a unique way to connect with a loved one/teen/friend and switch off together from the outside world for a while. There will also be downtime to rest and find solitude among the trees, listen to the birds, and to breathe out from the stresses of daily life.

We will cover:

• Flint Knapping techniques to craft a primitive flint arrowhead.
• Friction fire making - learn to harness frictional heat, bring a glowing ember to life & blow it into flame just as our ancestors have done for thousands of years.
• Optional Spoon crafting using an ember to burn out the bowl.

• Slow down and connect to the natural world.

• Available for ages 14+ (under 18's to be accompanied by an adult - all children must be under the direct supervision of their parent/carer at all times, particularly during tool use and fire activities).

• Running from 10am on the Saturday- 3.30pm on the Sunday (Departures by 5pm)

PROGRAMME:
Saturday

• Arrive, setup camp, & settle
• Gather for lunch, followed by walking the land
• Bow drill fire lighting
• Slowing down in Nature
• Evening dinner followed by optional fireside spoon ember crafting

Sunday

• Flint knapping Arrowheads
• lunch
• Nature sit spot
• Gather and closing

• Departures by 5pm
