Got a dog that already knows the target odour but you’d like a cleaner, clearer and more reliable indication?

This 3-week course is designed to help handlers develop stronger indication skills, building confidence, clarity and accuracy around source.

Week 1 – Building Stillness

We’ll focus on creating value in staying at source. Whether your dog tends to bounce, paw, stare briefly and move on, or struggles to maintain position, we’ll work on developing calm, confident stillness.

Week 2 – Putting the Indication on Scent

Now that we have a stronger understanding of stillness, we’ll begin pairing that behaviour directly with the target odour. We’ll explore timing, handler mechanics and reward placement to help your dog clearly understand what earns reinforcement.

Week 3 – Bringing It Into the Search

The final week is all about applying those skills in realistic search scenarios. We’ll work on helping dogs transition from finding odour to confidently showing source, while handlers learn how to support without influencing.
