Local Authors Showcase

An evening event celebrating local writers, with authors based in different locations around the library. Audience members are split into small groups of around 6 to 10 people and rotate between each author in turn for a fast-paced, engaging ‘author speed-dating’ experience.

Each author leads a 10 to 15 minute session in their own style, whether that is a talk, reading, Q&A or a mix of all three.

After every group has visited each author, there is time for guests to mingle, chat further and buy books. The full event lasts around 90 minutes, with a three-minute warning given before each rotation so authors can wrap up and prepare for the next group.
