Velma Vogue is an international, award-winning neo burlesque performer, based in Leeds, UK. Born into the dance world, they studied contemporary, freestyle and street dance from the young age of 6 and after winning multiple awards, studied to become a dance teacher at the age of 16. Velma was an active member of the National Association of Teachers of Dance for 2 years, training young freestyle competition performers and hosting weekly young adult disco freestyle classes.

After many more years of attending contemporary and commercial classes, Velma discovered the art of Burlesque with Aurora Nova in 2020. Since then Velma has performed in some of the UK’s most established burlesque shows and showcased her skills on many European stages.

Velma's stage persona is versatile. Not only does she bring cheeky, sassy energy but she can also take the audience on emotional journey with her emotive techniques and jaw dropping trick skills. Drawing inspiration from her own experiences Velma creates unique, political and emotional acts, with a strong message.
