🎅 The ‘Santa Splash’ is back for 2025! 🤶
Get ready for another magical, merry paddle as we team up with the Canal & River Trust and our amazing local community partners for this ever-popular festive splash along the Leeds–Liverpool canal! 💦
Santa and Christmas-themed costumes are always encouraged 🎅✨📸
🗓️ WHEN: Saturday, December 7th 2024, 10am – 2pm (approx)
📍 START: Eldonian Village Hall, L3 6LG
🏁 FINISH: Lock and Quay Community Pub, L20 4AP
🗺️ DISTANCE: 2.1 miles (as the duck flies)
But relax, it’s NOT a race 🦌🦌🦌🦌🛶💨
🎉 WHAT TO EXPECT:
10am: Gather canal-side at the Eldonians for hot chocolate, mince pies, festive tunes and to pick up your FREE Santa hats. We’ll also have boat-decorating fun (bring your own lights, tinsel, trees and anything merry!) ☕🥧🎵🎀
11am: Set off on our joyful one-way paddle to the Lock & Quay – and warm up those vocal cords for your favourite Christmas classics! 🎶
12pm: Celebrate with us at the Lock & Quay for our community party featuring tasty hot food, live music and our Christmas market! 🥳🏆🍻🌭🎸🎁

🎟️ This event is FREE but tickets are limited, so BOOK EARLY to secure your seat!
Dress for the weather! (even if that is under a costume) Gloves help to grip the paddles and keep you warm. Towels and wipes are also a good idea as splashes are unavoidable. ☀️🌧️❄️
Canoes provided for this event are rafted together to take 6 people (5+Instructor). All abilities are welcome - buoyancy aids are provided and expert instructors will be on hand.
Minimum age: 5yrs. All children (U16) MUST be accompanied by an adult. Adults must remain on site for the duration of the session. Under 8s must have an adult accompany them in the rafted canoe.
If you are coming in a group larger than 5 people, please let us know as each rafted canoe is max 5 paddlers and an instructor.
