Festive Pottery - Christmas Tree
Aimed at all levels of experience, this festive themed class will use some of the basic hand building techniques such as slabs or coils in the making of a Christmas Tree for use as a candle / light decoration or simply as a decorative tree. You will be shown how to construct the tree around a cone shaped former and design it to your personal taste, the details are up to you!
In this class you will be guided by an experienced pottery tutor, developing your clay skills and enabling you to complete your a project.
The cost of classes includes tuition, and materials used during the class as well as the application of a underglaze during the class and then a transparent glaze applied by us or a single colour of glaze applied by the tutor after the first bisque firing. Your finished work will be ready to collect as soon as possible and usually within 3-4 weeks.
Tools and equipment including aprons are provided as are refreshments!
Livello: Intermediate, Beginner & Suitable for all levels
Everything you need is provided here so just bring yourself and have fun.
The 2 hour class allows for 10 minutes of tidying up at the end of the session.
Remember to keep an eye on social media for work fresh from the kiln and ready for collection. You can pop in any time we're open to collect your finished work. If you can bring a towel or something to wrap your work in (don't buy bubble wrap) that's great, if not we have newspapers, and a bag/box depending on what you have made.
If there is a class running when you come to collect your work then please understand that you may need to wait until a suitable moment for the tutor present to be able to help find your work. Thanks

A bit of info on getting here/parking etc.
Address:
Clay Half
55 Murray Street
Montrose
DD10 8JZ
Murray Street is easily accessible via public transport as it's just a short walk from the High Street, with bus stops and Montrose rail station a short distance away.
Public car parking is currently free in Angus. There is short stay car parking on Murray Street but it's only for 1 hour during the day. The nearest long stay car parking is very near, it's called Murray Lane and is just to the west of Murray Street. Accessed from Strathmore Place a close (lane) leads you directly from the car park onto Murray Street opposite the Clay Half.
Parking at Lowerhall Street is a little further away, near Basin View and Aldi and the train station, but it is long stay and there are electric charge points there.
